Is your child having problems with math in school; specifically, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and/or division of whole numbers? If so, we have the perfect Android Apps that can help.
Arithmetic Tutor is a suite of four Android apps to teach students how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers. The student selects the options for the exercise, such as the number of digits for each operands, whether to enable carry/borrow/remainder, and number of problems in each exercise. The apps randomly generate the operands for each problems in the exercise based on the options selected, and allow the student to enter intermediate result (like carry, borrow, and intermediate product digits) and the answer by simply dragging and dropping digits. The student can then check his/her answer. The apps tell the student if the answer is correct or incorrect, and if it is incorrect, offer a choice of letting the student to try again, ask the app to show what is wrong with the answer, or ask the app to show the steps to solve the problem. All instructions from the apps are given verbally (i.e. the apps talk to the student), with an option of showing the instructions as text. Unlike a human tutor, the apps are infinitely patient, so the student will never feel intimidated. The apps keep track of the student's progress by recording the problem sets and the student's scores. The scores can be retrieved anytime to see the student's progress.
The apps are not mindless video games. However, your kid will love them because he/she will have fun using them. And you will see improvements very quickly.
Please take a look at this video to get an idea on how these apps work.
This will give you an excellent idea of the functionality of the other apps ("Arithmetic Tutor - Subtraction", "Arithmetic Tutor - Multiplication", and "Arithmetic Tutor - Division"), which can be purchased at a nominal price.
